Oh yes I did it! Skills! Empty Oh yes I did it! Skills!

It took me 2 hours of straight work, but everything went right, so I'm done with the first skill.
Yes yes, it works perfect, just how I wanted Wink
I've made some screens to explain how stuff work with skills which I will show soon.

I only have one skill, but I hope I can finish another skill today too.
Then I have to make that some skills are "locked". And so cannot be used.

The best thing about this skill system is that I made it all myself.
In the previous Dirkels Botyto made most of the magic system (and inventory etc.).
Of course I did look at some stuff he did, like the cool down system haha. ;3

There will come 6 skills, 2 will be available at level 1.
I got a question for you guys, should I do that you get new skills through levels?
Or that you get a new skill when you done a certain quest, concerning that skill.
So that you actually learn it...

Here are some screens explaining how the skills work at the moment.

Oh yes I did it! Skills! Scr1a

And when you press '1'...

Kyon.

16:46 EDIT
Finished skill 2.
The skills now also have a global cooldown.
So, you cant press them at the same time, since you havve to waiit 2/3 of a second before using the next skill...

It's very sweet and smooth.

I think that you should have skills learnt through off quests based around learning the new skills, but are only accessible by level x or higher.

I bet TP is going to look up whether it's accessible or accessable. It is -ible.

seeing as the characters in the game are now humans, will the name be changed from "Dirkels" to "Humans"?

Very funny. The name remains, I think.

He's right though, there's no point in calling the game 'Dirkels' any more, when the Dirkels-part has been completely removed...

Devilfromhost12, why did you come back here anyway?
Also, the name Dirkels "probably" still remains. But will have other purpose on the story.
Maybe Aldezar's Scythe was "dirkels" or I don't know. Still have to make up something lol.

I don't know who Devilfromhost12 is, I just looked him up on the memberlist and what I discovered what quite simply hilarious -- I'm somewhat insulted that you believe I'm him.

And now for an on-topic-comment: Obtaining skills by completing quests would be preferable, but the quests to gain skills should only be available once you reach a certain level.

EDIT: The discoveries I refer to are, of course, his posts.

Alright, but the player has to actually know that this skill is available, and also where.
What about, in your HUD it says on what level a specific skill is available, so when you reach that level, you are gonna search for the quest which gives you the new skill. Searching for this quest can take a long time though, so it needs to be more clear that a specific quest, gives you a skill.

To see if an NPC has a normal quest, he will have a mark above his head.
Maybe for is an NPC has a quest, which awards you an skill, this mark will have a different colour?

Btw,
Devilfromhost12 was a true moron.
But I guess I believe you aren't him... Right equilhend?

Or a sword in the air, representing a skill. And for "Dirkels", perhaps Dirkel:

means "from Elyador"
Dirkel or Dyrkle is the surname of Aldezar/Alyuen and Diuky
is a "swearword" instead of "damnation". - "Dirkel! My father is dead..."

That is quite possibly the worst idea I have ever heard.

"from elyador" could work.
Maybe instead of the magic 'blood', they created the magic 'Dirkel'?

Dyrkle would be better then. Or maybe instead of "Elements" they're called "Dyrkles".

STOP with calling it "dyrkles". We already talked about this.
