    I finished my game on the very last moment.
    I worked so freakin' hard today, you don`t wanna know -_-
    Anyway, I really hope I can come high, I`ve just tried so hard to win this.
    Though, I didn`t have much time, so the game ain`t that long.
    Fun, but not long, but that doesn`t matter as long as it is fun.

    It`s a platform game, with very sweet graphics (atleast, I think so).

    In the game there are comign challenges,
    so next to that you can do the levels, you can also do some fun challenges.
    I finished the first one (needs some minor tweaking though). It's very short but fun Wink
    It's about shooting people with the Skipper gun.

    HELL YEAH!
    I finished the whole temple, and it is more awesome then any zone I had.
    But, that ain't really hard to do since there is only one other zone next to this.
    Anyway, I didn't like make it fast and messy, no, I kind of took my time to think through things, I worked >> all day <<.
    I didnt have anything else to do on saturday anyways. hehe.

    The story already ends in the temple, there is only one more extra boss in Zone 3, which is also announced in Zone 2, he talks about that the summoned the monster of the temple.

    Hey all,
    I finished the music of the Temple Zone, Zone 2.
    Next to the music, I made a start at the design of the temple.
    It still needs a different background, and of course some random objects.
    Here is a quick screen of how it looks like now, notice the new tiles I finished (still needs some small editing):

    First zone is finished.
    Its awesome, short, but fun.
    Some screens are under at this post.

    Zone 1 has 2 full levels, and 1 ending level which doesnt take more then a sec to finish (just some text).
    You can also ride the turkey mount in level 2, which is fun. xD
    The conversations are very nice too...

    The story kind of sucks, but is still fun, lol.
    Anywaaay, next to finishing the zone,
    I also made a big part of the engine.
    Save/load works now! And also, I got unlockables.
    So, you need to do zone 1 to play zone 2 etc.

    I made my own music.
    And it's awesome!

    Anyway, busy with level 2 now =P
    No worries, I already "finished" most of the engine, so its mostly mapping which takes time.
    There will come 3 worlds instead of 4,
    World 1 has 2 levels
    World 2 has 2 to 3 levels
    World 3 has 1 to 2 levels (boss fight)

    Yes, the game will be short, but thats my fault, I haven't worked "that" hard on the game.
    No screens to show yet, but I keep you posted.

    Alright, so I didn't quite like it.
    It was too messed up.
    Also, I used 2 different layers. This ain't nice.
    So, this time I added some different tiles to the water (the sides)
    and only did the front layer. What do you think?

    Aye, I got 21 days, but I can still make it, since the base engine is done.

    I am planning around 10 levels. Going to make level 2 now, level 2 is a gathering level, you need to gather some items, which you'll use in level 3.

    I think I fully completed my basic design of how the jungle levels will look like.
    I've removed the square green parts in he background, and I removed the previous background.
    As seen in my previous blog, I added plants.
    Now I also added a beautiful tree, I worked on it for half an hour!
    I think the new background is a big improvement, it is fully paralax, and the sun glows through the trees, this makes a beautiful effect!

    Hey guys!
    I've done some designing lately, in the upcoming screen you will see some new tiles.
    Next to that, I've designed on paper what the upcoming levels will have, and I also got a slight idea of how the storyline will be put in the game.

    I was planning cut-scenes, but this idea is scrapped, you will see in-game scenes, with people talking to each other or something. Talking about that, I just made a basic message-box system. It will look like comic text balloons. It looks quite good.

    Yes, I removed the pig design, and that second creature design.
    We started to search for new ideas, and at the end we wanted to make a turkey as mount.
    But then, we thought of something way better, a roasted-dead turkey as mount, with small legs under it.

    Like I said in my previous blog, I had some feature concerning a pig.
    Well, I scrapped this idea, and changed it a bit, and after a while, I changed the whole
    animal design, which used to be a pig, and now is some unique, original strange monster.

    Anyway...
    The idea I had was to make our little Skipper, ride a creature.
    So, he will mount something.

    First I made him mount a pig.
    Then I changed the speed, and some other things.
    But, after a while, I didnt like the current pig idea.

    Sorry, I haven't posted in a while.
    I was very busy with other things, like, I was on a camping, and I worked allot at... work.

    Anyway, between all this,
    I made some stuff for the game, some ideas.
    - I made an enemy idea I will show you soon.
    - I made some more story ideas.
    - I thought of some cool feature, concerning a pig. This feature is in development.

    For the enemy, at the moment I only got the design, and I got that you can kill the enemy.
    Nothing else really.
    I still need to work all these things out better,

    What is a game, without a Main Menu?
    I wanted a perfect, good looking Main Menu for my game, which was easy to use.
    Hehe, I first tried a circular menu, I done his, but it wasn't perfect yet,
    and it took up too much space.
    So then I made a whole new concept.
    It kinda looks like a basic menu, though, the sprites are very smooth!
    After some basic concept art,
    I started creating, and the result was awesome,
    though, it ain't finished yet, I still need to make some things like:
    - Locked buttons (requirements to open a tab)
    - Explanations of how to use...

    After some designing,
    I finally made the explosion the gun will make.
    It looks very awesome, the screen shakes etc.

    I also like to tell, that these guns aren't gonna be a big feature in the game.
    It is just something fun during the game, there are coming many other cool features next to this.

    You use the gun most of the times, just for opening doors, or blasting away obstacles.
    Maybe sometimes kill enemies, this will be done in a fun way, since I am not planning blood or allot of violence.
    The game is supposed to be funny.

    A while ago, I was playing the game, and I saw that the game looks good, but is quite boring.
    I mean, just a platformer, ain't fun.
    So I needed more unique features in it, I thought of specific puzzles, or maybe more platform features...
    But after a while, I came up with the idea of making the player, very strong.
    I always like to play a game, where you are overpowerd sometimes.
    Like when you grab that star, in Super Mario Bros. ^^

    So, I've finished "checkpoints" in the game.
    It looks very smooth, hehe, my game is gonna be as smooth as possible.

    I've made checkpoints, because when I play other games, I always HATE that you got to redo big parts of a level becaue you died once.
    These checkpoints give the chance or the player to die atleast once for free ^^
    Anyway, this is the idea

    It's night-time in the game,
    that's why it's so dark, this is the night-time screenoverlay, dark at the sides makes a very nice effect,
    don't you think?
    The background are just a couple o blurred trees, but it has a nice parallax effect.

    Well, my entry in yoyogames competition is called Skipper.
    The title will be a bit edited, but the character is called Skipper.

    I am still working on the plot,
    but it is something easier, the player is probably some alien guy,
    who travels through worlds to discover his family/planet/home by collecting
    spaceship parts/magical objects/information from people who live in these worlds...
    It's a very open idea, the plot needs to be worked on allot.

    The basic idea is to make a funny game, with incredible 'smooth' gameplay.
